Level 1

  • Pool Safety

  • Comfort in water

  • Monkey Crawl

  • Freestyle kick

  • Streamlined Glide to wall

  • Streamlined kick to wall

  • Blowing bubbles from the nose

  • Holding breath underwater

  • Floating on stomach

  • Floating on Back

  • Rolling over from back to stomach

  • Rolling over from stomach to back

  • Retrieval of objects off the bottom of the pool (assisted)

  • Jumping in and returning to the wall

  • Jumping in, face down float, roll over sequence

 

Level 2

  • Strong freestyle kick with kick-board on stomach with side breath

  • Strong freestyle kick with kick-board on back

  • Frog kick with kick-board on stomach (face in water with attempted correct breathing pattern)

  • Mermaid/merman kick introduction with kick-board on stomach

  • Chicken/Airplane/Rocket arms (on back)

  • Scooping with freestyle arms

  • Confirmation of back float

  • Confirmation of rollover from stomach to back

  • Basic scoops with kick across the pool – Freestyle swimming (dependent on pool size)

  • Mermaid/merman kick introduction with kick-board on stomach

  • Retrieval of objects off the bottom of the pool w/o assistance

  • Deeper water bottom bouncing with surface breath

 

Level 3

  • Endurance building with Strong freestyle kick with kick-board on stomach with side breath

  • Endurance building with Strong freestyle kick with kick-board on back

  • Endurance building with Frog kick with kick-board on stomach (face in water with correct breathing)

  • Mermaid/merman kick without kick-board on stomach for one length with raise head breathing

  • Big arm scoops with correct breathing and kicking for two lengths

  • Correct backstroke motion with arms, head back, and freestyle kicks, for the full length of the pool

  • Basic breast stroke with correct arm motion, frog kick and breathing.  Working towards correct rhythm

  • Able to retrieve objects off the bottom of the pool from a distance

  • Able to swim side-stroke (optional)

 

Level 4

  • Endurance freestyle and backstroke swimming

  • Freestyle swimming with proper form and strong kicks

  • Back stroke with big arms and strong kicks

  • Be able to easily swim multiple lengths of the pool using freestyle and backstroke with proper breathing and head positioning

  • Working on swimming length of pool underwater without coming up for a breath

  • Proper breast stroke swimming with correct rhythm for arms, legs and breathing

  • Ability to swim all three strokes correctly for 2 lengths of the pool, each, one after another

  • Treading water in the deep end of the pool for 5 minutes
